Title: Mp3 Player Recommendation
Post by: SecretSquirrel on May 27, 2005, 12:23:56 PM
Looking to get one for my car inplace of cd changer.

My car has an MP3 input socket so the player will need a seperate Lineout.

I'm a player newbie so I have no personal experience on which to compare different makes.

Looking at reviews it seems to me either an iPod 20 Gig or maybe the iRiver 320.

Funny you should mention that, because I REALLY want one of these! (http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hardware/mp3mp4wavwmaatracplayers/productView.htm?quicklinx=3HLW)

The 5GB Creative Zen Micro MP3 player, looks really nice too  :D

I've got the 15Gb iPod and it's excellent. The one feature where others beat it is battery life and it's charger isn't terribly small. I know someone with the Creative micro Zen 5Gb thingy and he has no end of troubles with the buttons not quite working like they're supposed to. Otherwise it seems fine but I think the 1Gb apple flash player sounds like a good idea to me!

I was after the 20 Gig ipod but got the 30GB Photo in the end - the only model left (except the U2) in the shop and being an impatient Bstd I couldn't wait 'til restocked.

Sounds great in car. Itunes is really simple, quick and versatile to use.

Have put most of my CD collection on now (2 CD'S) so all in all 8/10.
