This has to rank up there with Donnie Darko as one of my favourite films i've ever seen, will definately become a modern day classic over the next few months.
The action comes in the form of stories about characters from Sin city and intertwined with each other perfectly as they mostly go about exacting revenge generally for someone being killed, Marv played by Mickey rourke is brilliant and in my opinion easily the star of the film as he avenges the killing of Goldie, a whore he's infatuated with that was killed while he slept at the side of her.
Brilliant from start to finish but definately not one for the squeamish. Countless castrations, head's rolling about on the floor without bodies and a guy who gets his head caved in too.
Oh yeah it's totally shot in black and white with highlights of colour on certain objects, such as the guy called 'Yellow bastard'.
Based on a great series of comic books. :)

Just listen to the film review on five live and it said a visual pleasing film with lots of violence's but ultimately very shallow with no story or direction. so I guess I will wait for it on sky.
But the film god that is Mark Kermode was on holiday this week. so will wait for the definitive review next week.
But Jb your right about Donnie Darko. great film
Donnie Darkos a great film. I could watch it over and over.
I wanna see Sin City, i might do next week.
Very pretty
Very good cast
Completely soulless and vapid
Not a film that engenders any real emotion in you apart from looking at the pretty images - jut like most recent Rodriguez films
The fanboys will love it as much as Sky Captain last year - and that turkey stank :(
you like donnie darko..........omg.......its....like my favorite filem ever
evertime i ask someonwe if they have seen it im asked back, how many guns and explosions dose it have
i feel happy i have found people that are truely like me.......apart from hippy...
saw this film yesterday and had to be one of my favs already, such a class film, reminded me of max payne a bit though which is a good thing.....would be class if they did make a max payne film though, i'd goo and see it
Quality film.
Yes it may be souless but the superb cinematography more than makes up for that. Definately will be watching this one again.
Saw it last night, quality. I thought the voice over stuff was trying a bit too hard to be 'comic book' at first, but it works.
I think the parts with Nancy(Jessica Alba) and Hartigan(Bruce Willis) were the best.
Highly recomended.
btw
PlanB im in love with you.

I've just watched it, excellent film, liked the black and white stuff and the colours (a few times) alot. Damn Jessica Alba is hot as usual.
I also had to think about Max Payne when I saw it.
9,5/10 for me.
