Title: deadmen email
Post by: Anonymous on June 09, 2005, 08:41:46 PM
Who admins the deadmen mail server? The reason I ask is that it seems to be using the SPEWS mail filtering system and they have blocked blueyonder so I get messages like the following when I try to email deadmen addresses:

Quote  The Internet Exchange MTA (suthwebsrv1.sutherlandweb.co.uk) failed to send your message to the following recipient(s):

 blueball@deadmen.co.uk
  <<< 554 Service unavailable; Client host [82.41.72.224] blocked using l1.spews.dnsbl.sorbs.net; ! [1] blueyonder.co.uk, see http://spews.org/ask.cgi?S3198 (http://spews.org/ask.cgi?S3198)

I have the domain control for the deadmen.co.uk.
We run no filtering ourselves, we simply route mail to the forwarding address via zoneedit.com.

In which case it is Zoneedit that is blacklisting the blueyonder IP addresses :(

It's not zoneedit, it's the spam list they use. As you said, spews. Unfortunatly, unless blueyonder get taken of spews then there is not a lot that can be done. (I've had the same problem with some of my accounts)

Fault logged with Blueyonder:

QuoteThe company (zoneedit.com) that hosts the email server for my counterstrike clan (deadmen.co.uk) is blocking emails from blueyonder IP addresses because blueyonder as a whole seems to be blacklisted by SPEWS:

Can Blueyonder please take the necessary steps to get themselves removed from the SPEWS mail blacklist as it is limiting my use of the account I pay for.
