Title: Computer restarts when told to shut down
Post by: GhostMjr on June 12, 2005, 03:52:49 PM
Hi i am running xp pro! Whenever i try to turn the computer off it reboots! I have tried all the Microsoft Knowledge base solutions but to no avail. I know that before using the new xp pro cd i bought theprevious window installations worked without any hitches so i presume the cd may be faulty! Can i rma it to microsoft?

Thanks

GM

I doubt that it is the CD thats faulty. When you go into device manager and select the "computer" entry it will have a description branching off from it (expand the computer entry to see it).

What does that entry say?

Sorry to laugh GM but you do come up with the most wierd and strange answer to faults you get.

QuoteI'm sat at my desk installing Win Xp but keep getting disk errors, I think my chair could be faulty?
