I keep getting the result that an account for my chosen name/email already exists?? I've tried some pretty specific usernames and no-one should be using my email account...
what am I doing wrong?
i had the same problem, i ended up just using some really random email account made up af mashing the keyboard & adding @ & .net & did the same with the password & just set it to remember the passy.

bah, turns out gamespy was seeing my Dawn of War account registered at my hotmail address, though why it didn't like my beer.com email is beyond me. I be online in BF2demo now :D

I had to put random symbols and letters in lower and upper case in front of my name to register

...mainly because my name is too long!! It seems I had a gamespy account from DOW that was screwing up my BF2 login. ho hum, it works now, bye bye sleep!
there is a bit in the tweak guide about this. Creating an account is bugged. It appears to lag out saying creating....
All you need to do is quit the game, restart and where it says create account there should be a retrieve account option. Use that and enter your details. Also, be aware that if you try to skip the movies by clicking escape, space, etc then it will record those keystrokes in the password box! So if you click signin you'll get a password error. Simple resolution, just overtype the password each time, or keep away from the keyboard :P
