I'm gonna get the ball rolling by bringing some locally produced cider....
this isn't your Blackthorn or Natch... this is real Farmhouse stuff 8)
Last time I asked, it was over 8%...but it's variable...mostly upwards.
If you let me know if you want some by pm, I'll make sure you get to try some.( if you want gallons I'll have to charge, But a few pints..np)
what local produce can you bring? (and it doesn't have to be intoxicating/halucinogenic) {but preferably!}

Maybe Apfelkorn would be better, although it's German but it's really tasty schnaps. The real deal ofcourse: Berentzen.
Does anyone have a clue what them Dutchies are waffling on about? Apfelkorn, whats that, a breakfast cereal? ;)

:ranting: It has 18% alcohol in it and apfel is German for Apple.
BERENTZEN - Apfelkorn
Description:
The Original Berentzen ApfelKorn set a new standard in soft liqueur drinks and has a tremendous international success.
Sun-ripened apples give the distinct and unrivalled taste to this marvellous product which is consumed in many countries by people of all ages.

And DM, I prefer Apfelkorn over Jagermeister (although jagermeister is also quit good).
;) 8)
I've had jagermeister - why didn't you just say that's what it was like!!!! ;) :D

I hate you all, sounds like its gonna be a beast of a LAN and you picked the one weekend in the year that I'm not in the country!
Is anyone coming from Glasgow, if so I think that a cutural exchange using Buckfast "wine" may be needed.
Whitey you aren't far away are you?
Lived in Glasgow for 4 years and sampled some........
Imagine Ribena, antifreeze and rohypnol mixed together and you'd be a fraction of the way there.

The last time I had cookies from Holland was from a coffee shop in Amsterdam. Needless to say it took me about 3 days to recover :roflmao:

ok ok perhaps it just felt like a few days :)
My g/f lives next door to buckfast abbey where Buckfast Tonic is produced. Incidently that's in devon, so technically you can't bring it if you're from Glasgow as it's not local ;)
well I've booked the rooms...so I'm definately coming.
I'll pick up the cider a couple of days before I come...it should keep well for a week or so if kept cool and unflustered :D ....so don't plan on stocking up! DRINK YOUNG!
and so far I got Pen down for 2-3 gallons
and Duvel & family down for 1.
I reckon I can fit in about 8 in total so book em in early 8)
I shall bring perry for meself
I just checked and it's £5.50 odd a gall (5 litres)...it says 6% on the label, but don't believe it
default is "dry" unless you ask otherwise...sweet is undrinkable afaik...trust me, dry is good 8)
happy days ;)
pm me to order yours

That's where I got married (the Abbey that is, not at your g/f's and not in the Tonic factory)! And fwiw the 'basic' fortified wine before they add the herbs is much nicer than the tonic imo - the late Abbot used to supply us with bottles (any plastic screwtop bottle he could get hold of) of basic

Crazy, it is a small world! Yeah you've gotta love the old Abbey, they sell the main supply of alcohol for all Scottish drunks, and at the same time advocate a tee-total existance and put up posters to AA! :D :D
Lovely place to have a wedding though! So you still live around there?

Never lived in Buckfastleigh myself, but SWMBO's family had roots there. I still buy the honey when I'm down there - it's one of my favourites.

Good stuff you brought Blunt. I thought it was for trying only, didn't knew you were bringing a jerrycan for me . I couldn't bring it with me though. Customs probably would have thought it was rocket fuel that I was trying to steal from the airport. Rizzy had quit a hard time with it aswell ;).
I hope you guys liked the stroopwafels and Apfelkorn.
Greetz, Pete
EDIT: The cheese was (young) Edammer cheese, 40+.

I've changed me mind Blunt. It was a moment of weakness that drove me to turn down the second gallon.
Fantastic stuff - just like mamma used to make (or was it someone else - the memory goes with scrumpy)
