Title: Sunday nights game
Post by: Armitage on June 19, 2005, 10:13:51 PM
what a demo :)

don't know about you guys but I really enjoyed tonight's game. and on the smaller map the vehicles didn't really take over. unless one team got both tanks. but that's no ones fault apart from the team that didn't look after there tank.

one of the toughest jobs was squad lead. when you had you had to try and relay messages from the commander.

maybe smaller squads (say 3 people) that try and stick together which will allow the commander a better control of how many troops he send to any one spot.

The only downside is being commander is fairly boring. Hole up and place UAV things. Drop some supplies etc....

The voicecomms are dire. maybe a teamspeak server with keys for squad and whole team.

Other than that...I enjoyed it ;)

Yup, great fun. I think the smaller map worked better for us. I really enjoyed myself. Thanks to all who were there except Frenzy who kept killing me ;)

Great fun.  :D

But I missed the choppers, I like taking a full blackhawk into the warzone or hovering near a capture point in the gunships to wipe out any resistance.

True about commander though, I spent a round playing commander sending orders to guard and capture but I think peeps still haven't got used to the squads yet (me included) and my orders were timing out. We need to practice with the different radio buttons and things. Squad leaders get to talk to everyone in there team and the commander via the default 'v' key. Commander seems to only be able to talk to squad leaders using 'v', push-to-talk doesn't seem to work.

Got the hang of it by the time JAS was raining down death on the enemy though and we had some good rounds as USMC by the end.

Beware of Armitage in sniper mode and Frenzy's C4.  :ranting:

Would love to join you guys but after many months of abuse my chip(xp2500+ O/c to 3200+) has given up, it hangs at welcome screen in windows, even returning it to stock speeds/voltages only results in 15/20 mins of gameplay before it all crashes back to desktop :(

Password didn't last long :(

Kept getting disconnected. Thought I'd try some CZ but got dropped from server with "Error! Server verification failed" message and couldn't rejoin :(
