I've not been happy with my Epox motherboard for quite some time; I've never felt that it was particularly good at managing AGP or USB throughput.
I have therefore ordered a new Asus P4P800-E Deluxe (http://uk.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=12&l3=31&model=178&modelmenu=1) which I will hopefully fit this weekend.
Now, to my question.
The Asus board has an ICH5 Raid Controller (which supports SATA Raid) and a Promise Raid controller (which supports PATA Raid and SATA Raid).
Which controller am I better using? The ICH5 or the Promise?
Probably better to run off the onboard RAID on the southbridge. lower latency and better compatability and using all the native ports first is often best as there's less stuff to be communicating through.......promise works through the pci and shares bandwidth with all other pci devices.
Get Onboard BB <_< :D
