Arrived tuesday night as I had my 1st shift wed, had a few drinks with mates and all was rosey. Woke up wed with a stinking cold and spent the wed and thurs getting up for my shifts and then crashing out again. By Thurs morning I was also losing my voice. Not a happy camper and was on the verge of going home coz I felt so bad. Then the rain on Friday...............

This was my mate after the 1st little 1/2 hour storm, boy were we confusing early morning punters with this game!! A couple of hours later this was my tent...

Managed to get my sleeping bag out dry and that was about it. This was put into a mates car to keep it dry along with all the valuables etc. She then went out that night got wankered and lost her bag so now all my stuff is locked in her car!! On Sunday we get the AA out and they take the car up to the security compound where a locksmith opens it so I get my stuff back. On monday as our campsite is no longer secure I put my valuables in a mates van. We procced to get totally trollied, end up at the stone circle flying my mates ufo kite. Eventually stagger back tues morning and pass out. What I didn't know at this point is that John whos van my stuff was in had given his keys to Ace, who even though he can barely walk let alone see decides to drive back to Bristol!! So for the second time that weekend my keys are locked in someone elses car!!
Anyway it all got sorted in the end,!! Got back went to turn on my pc and the power supply had died, so I said sod it and went to the pub and got pissed!! Managed to see a few bands of which the highlight was Banco da Gia who was amazing. Had a dance with next to the mc from Atomic Hooligan and loitered backstage with Norman Cook. So all in all quite a week, I managed to get blisters, trenchfoot and sunburn which are all nicely healed now.
Sounds like you had an excellent week. Welcome back in the land of the living. ;) 8)
Did you cought any fish? ;)
Nice story!
All's well that ends well then :D
Saw some of the photos of the worst affected areas. Looked like a nightmare. Was there any assistance offered to those affected?

Yes they set up a sanctuary tent with dry bedding and some dry clothes. They did have divers out checking the tents that where underwater, fortunately they didn't find anybody.
Wow - what a bizarre adventure....
I could'nt believe the photos and TV footage..... for once with the nice weather to start with I (foolishly) thought it would be mud-free .. heh...
Something to remember though !!!
