After a conversation with Chimpboy (or as close to a converation as anyone can get with the Man Ape) I was wondering about the rule regarding jumping on the head of a fellow T so as to plant the bomb high up on a box etc. Should their be a single CT left to diffuse the bomb it's then out of their reach. Personally I consider it bad sportmanship at best and cheating at worst. Just looking for a bit of clarification?
i think its just that bad sportsmanship. its one of them grey areas
very tactical but,,,,,,,,, o i dunno
On N42 the rule was that you can't plant so the bomb is inaccessible if it meant exploiting a map flaw e.g. dropping down the bomb behind a box or something. I think it was later ruled that top of box planting also was deemed not legit.

I agree on this too.
seems senisble
Well I don't consider it cheating. Single-man boosts are allowed in most leagues for instance (mind you - from the demos I've watched of top clans in action there's precious little planting going on).
Whether it's sporting is a question that I suspect doesn't have a right or wrong answer. My own view is that the terrorists should use all the guile they possess to make sure the bomb explodes - including the use of single-man boosts. It even fits in with PCS in a way as they have to use teamwork and comms to enable them to pull off a boost.
The other obvious thing to mention is the lack of opportunity there is to boost the bomb. The only map that comes to mind where a boost is possible is Cobble ... Hmmmm.
AFAIK there were boost spots on Dust and Aztec too, but i dunno if they disapeared with 1.5.
Dust - Not the spawn site, the 1st set of boxes on the right against the wall.
Aztec - Over the bridge there's 1 double height box which i think you can plant on top of.
Neither hardly ever used if even possible now.

They still work. Seen it done on pubs.
a while ago i tryed to get soem one to put me up on the box in aztec so i could hide up above the doorway and shoot ppl comming through the doors.
no 1 would put me up
I put you up once and look what you did to my kitchen bin

Maybe you should consider deodorant
har fecking har
i would say no more than a 1 man boost....any more and it takes too long and kills the round
You should not take advanatge of map flaws, but planting on a box via a single person boost is a legitimate tactic IMO and even more reason for the CTs to work as a team and play it PCS.....
TL. 8)
I also think its fair just for the comedy value of seeing that single surviving CT trying desparatley to defuse that soooo out of reach bomb
(ps: i was that soldier!!)
Dust both bomb sites you can plant bomb in seemingly inaccesible places. Planting the bomb at B1 (Left out of covered hallways for the T's) you can plant on top of boxes on the right via a one man boost and on top of boxes on the left of the lower area. This position is quite dangerous though as CT snipers on balcony over underpass can see through the doors onto the top of the crates.
In B1 I found another place to plant the bomb was behind the last set of boxes on the right, the only reason is that no one ever plants there and confuses CT's. However if they find it you have to make yourself visible b4 they start defusing to actually get a clean kill.
At the CT spawn if you jump onto the far boxes up against the back of the wall... (Which you can do because of uneven terrain) you can then whip out your knife and jump onto the boxes opposite (Which most people would achieve through a one man boost) And plant bomb... therefore making it accesible to a one man defuser... (but only if he knows the little trick. In my opinion that is not taking advantage of a map flaw as it is merely using normal movement and a little ingenuity.)
There is a little trick in de_chateau as well which I have only heard about (no first hand experience) that you can plant bomb on the roof at bombsite B, Not quite sure how you manage it but I have been told it is possible. And I know it is an accesible point as I witnessed some CT's clambering around up there earlier on today.
Another little trick I do whilst planting is to place a smoke nade on top of bomb... It doesn't hide it and you can jsut about see bombs flash every now and again... Most of the time CT's defuse with no problems (if they are allowed to). The trick is to then plant the bomb at the other bombsite or at a different location at the same bombsite and smoke nade the same position. I have seen CT's running around in the smoke frantically pressing their use button to no avail until they realise the bomb is in a different location (unless they spotted it before they went wading into the smoke) For the best effect it is good for the whole team to smoke the while bombsite a couple of seconds after bomb planting to a) give them cover finding a good spot to camp out the bomb timer and B) escape if they need to.
CT's can use this tactic as well to defuse in front of enemy... I have seen it done a couple of times on pub servers (which made me wonder why they can't play as a team all the time).
Anyways, thats enough from me...:D
Incidentally, on de_dust the A bombsite is the one to the left of the "mincer" (or tunnels, or corridors, or whatever you personally refer to them as), and the B site is the one at CT spawn.
I always remember it the other way round - A at spawn, B at mincer - which makes me wonder if it was changed at some point. But the sign on the A site door definately says "A" :)
Remembering back to my first few rounds of de_dust in quite a while a few weeks ago when I was yelling, "B is clear! B is clear!" and wondering why everyone was running off to the wrong site...
And then there was that disasterous "Everybody rush B" incident. Sigh.

Quote Planting the bomb at B1 (Left out of covered hallways)
One step ahead of ya...:)
But I know what you mean though... I used to (and still do occasionally... ) think the bombsites on Dust were A at CT spawn and B at right out of CT spawn... its a nuisance... why couldn't they mark them the way people would automatically think they would be...
Also has anyone noticed that the sign above the front door of the warehouse on Assualt says "67nd Street"? :P (or something like that...)

Seriously, I'm genuinely confused... are you ahead of me because you described the bombsites that you meant anyway, or because of the B1 thing (what's the one in aid of?), or ... or ... argh!

So... just to be clear... you agree with me on the bomb site designations?

The sign reads:
BLARCO CORP.
SUPPLY DEPOT
72TH STREET(I have a screenshot. I didn't just commit it to memory. I'm not
that utterly sad or geeky. Honest!)

Nah just the fact that I managed to describe the bombsite A as the one left out of covered hallway for T's... :)
I would have (in any normal circumstance have said bombsite A  ) and I was ctually proud of myself for getting it right... (sorry...:))

Oh, I
see! I thought that "covered hallways" was your designation for the mincer :)
Yeah, okay, crossed wires up top or something. Sorry
