Right, I'm up and running, but it's crap. Just a n old Socket A with my proc in it.
I was thinking funk it...shall I upgrade.
Should I be getting a 64?
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Int...78_Bundles.html (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Intel_Socket_478_Bundles.html) any of these any good? What's good for that sorta price? Should I intel or amd? about £200 ish all in.
If I buy a 64 mb and proc all my other stuff will still work right?
Norm, step forward and hook me up.
I'm biast towards AMD personally :)
:withstupid:
Do you want something that'll just do the trick for a couple of years, then upgrade again? Or would you rather buy something future proofed so you can upgrade bit by bit?
64 bit AMD.
Talk to Norm, he'll do you a bundle if he can.
AMD 64 bit mobos will also handle the new AMD dual core CPUs (same socket) so the future proofing is better than with Intel.
TL.
Go 64,any preference for board make? Plus you have agp graphics card right?

Calling a chip/chipset Prescott is surely a marketing no-no, as it must remind most folk of that fat arsehole 2jags. Puts you right off straight away
