Hi,

I'm new in this forum. I play a bit at the TG servers, but it is a bit difficult since they are on US time and I'm on European... I'll gladly join you this evening, if there is room for me.

I emphasize being a team player, listening to my squad leader, and generally have som good fun. I played different kits, but prefer Anti-tank or engineer. I'm not a very good pilot or gunner, but I can hold my own in a tank...

Welcome CoolHand,

You're not sometimes known as Luke are you? Sorry showing my age now :)

Welcome to the forums and hope you enjoy yourself on the server. We're mostly still trying to find our way with BF2 but bear with us were a lovely lot :D

Luke?

No, where inheavens did you get that? If it is my somewhat lame nick (Cool Hand), I use it because of a gaming comepetition which earned me that name.  :-)

As for bearing with you, it might be the other way around. However, the point is to have fun, right?

A very old film with Paul Newman called "CoolHand Luke (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061512/)" - ignore me I'm old and senile :)

Yeah, your right the idea is to have fun. Our ethos is to work as a team to achieve the objective and we have fun doing that. We enjoy a bit of banter too ;)

Damn!

I should have known. I've seen the movie (yeah, I'm over 30, below 40 - gaming is like s*x, better as you get older  :-)   ).

The nick dates from a gaming competition way back in 1997. I were competing in a flight sim competition, playing Gunship and Gunship 2000. We flew 100 missions, and the idea was to get the most points. I ended up with the same amount of points as one other guy. The only difference between him and me, was that he landed safely after every mission, whereas I autorotated (controlled helicopter crash landing) 3 out of 4 missions. They gave him the 1.st place. I voiced my protest, as it is much more difficult to land with two SA-7s ut the helicopters behind. The umpires didn't give me the first place, but gave me a diploma with the title Cool Hand, referring to my landing technique....

.... no, I'm not any good flying copters in BF!

I had great fun, guys.

I'll see you next time (through my crosshairs, of course).

And to those of you wondering why I tried to blow up a tank with the shotgun.... I got the machine gunner!  :D
