With the Windows 10 end of support date on the horizon what are you thinking? Already on Windows 11 so it doesn’t worry you, move to Windows 11 shortly, stay on Windows 10 to the bitter end or do something else?

Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases through that date.[FONT="] Existing LTSC releases will continue to receive updates beyond that date based on their specific lifecycles.[/FONT]

There is a bar 10 yards from the LAN room, and a highstreet (with a fine Kebab establishment) 20 yards away.


The hotel gives us a heavily discounted rate on our rooms, and gives us the LAN room for FREE. Please respect the arrangement we have had with them for many years and the relationship we have built. [/FONT][FONT=&]Do not[/FONT][FONT=&] bring in alcohol from outside. There is a bar for that. Snacks and the odd salted seahorse latte from Costa are generally ok, but please bring such things in discretely (i.e. through the door leading directly to the LAN room, not via the public bar), and don't take the proverbial.[/FONT][FONT=&]

As most of you will know although these are the games we are running (sort of) structured events for, many others will be played at the LAN. Bring along whatever you fancy!

It is a good idea to run Steam/Epic Launcher/ Blizzard Launcher the night before the LAN to make sure you are up to date. There should be working internet at the event, but it is better not to have to rely on it for your 30gb update Friday morning.

So it's time to organise the next dmw field trip.

Potential ideas are to go to Prague or Krakow but the primary purpose is to find good beer with a good attendance. The destination is flexible and budget I am looking at is about £300 including breakfast and flights.

Thinking of July or August dates on a 3 or 4 day Thursday to Sunday or Saturday to Tuesday basis.

So after a pretty big discussion on Hangouts and looking at flights it’s time to try and get the ball rolling for Norway Part Deux.
 
Summer 2015 is the plan with the usual drinks, shooting and any other activities people want to do in Alesund, Norway.
 
Accommodation is still being worked on but this is down to the number of us likely to go on the trip.
 
Budget- £300-£400 Includes flights £90-£100 ish.
 
Having looked at the flights Thursday- Sunday is not possible from Gatwick (our original long weekend plan) due to a 6-8hr journey time caused by a stopover in Oslo on the way to and from Alesund.
 
Therefore we have looked at Friday to Monday options and these have come back at very competitive prices.

Just bought and installed this and I have to say its pretty fun.

It's got two multiplayer modes, 4 person co-op and 12 v 12 team deathmatch or capture the flag.

Its £29.99 for the standard edition on origin but I managed to get it on simply keys for £13.99.

Anyway wondered if anyone else fancied buying it.

Yes its a bit like tf2 and its not a serious shooter but it could be great for the LAN.

No offline LAN mode but like most games these days it needs an online connection to work and uses a lobby system.

What are your thoughts?
