Just looking at some more storage and wondered what everyone had?

currently on:
500gb Nvme for the OS and general rubbish
500gb sata for my gamepass Xbox games
1tb sata for steam/epic/etc.

and 6TB of spinning rust for everything else

looking at getting 2 lots of 2tb sata for the games, 5.5tb should be plenty for now, though I have space for a second Nvme drive on my motherboard as well, so another 1tb for that might be an option too

It's my Birthday! / What’s your game of 2021?

Not necessarily a game released in 2021, but the game you particularly enjoyed playing in 2021

Movies, Music & Books / Games master reboot
December 01, 2021, 11:35:13 PM
Anyone else seen this yet? I’m finding it ok so far, loving Trevor McDonald as the gamesmaster, wasn’t sure how it would work bearing in mind the original was in the early 90s, before t’internet, but so far so good.

Movies, Music & Books / Hellbound
November 25, 2021, 12:34:41 AM
Spent this evening binge watching “hellbound” on Netflix.  Another South Korean series like squid game, but much darker atmosphere, rather than  utilising kids games this is about creatures that appear out of thin air and kill select people and drag them to hell. And is perfectly set up for season 2, when it is eventually released.

New survival game, out 12 august, might hit the spot until new world is released?

Starting with:

Army of the dead 8/10 ( Cinema and Netflix)

Enjoyable zombie film, from Zak Snyder. A group of people have to steal money from a Las Vegas casino, but Vegas is packed with the dead - Think oceans 11, but with zombies :lmfao:

The CGI is overdone, but the zombie tiger is worth it alone :taz::taz:

Technology Section / PCIe adaptors
March 09, 2021, 04:21:27 PM
Has anyone used a PCI-e 2.0x1 slot to sata adaptor?  Thinking I may need to expand my system somewhat...

I have 4x sata connectors (2x 3.0 and 2x 2.0)

128gb SSD boot drive/office drive (probably getting upgraded to a 240gb one though as its always full) and 1TB SSD on the faster connectors

with 500gb SSD, CD Drive on the slower 2.

Now, over time, as you do I have collected a number of "spare" drives, a 2tb hdd here , and a handful of 500-1tb HDD/SSDs there- rather than go to waste, and since I'm running out of room on my current setup  I am guessing I can use these adaptors?  Are they any good though, if anyone has prior experience with them (Only for storing really, anything i play a lot will get transferred to my main 1TB SSD).  Or is there a better way?

Seriously though ... / SSD location
January 15, 2021, 08:43:52 AM
This is going to be such a noob-ey question, but.....

New SSD is coming tomorrow, As my existing 1tb is nearly full, how do i make my pc use the new drive as simply an extension of the existing one, ie: so I am not having to point Steam, EGL etc to the new drive when I install? or will I have to do that anyway?  (Before SSDs, in the past id just buy bigger hard drives and transfer things over so never been something ive bothered with previously)

Right, I’m guessing the answer is steamlink, but the question is:

my pc is in our dining room, but sometimes I prefer relaxing in the living room, hence my earlier question about a gaming pc.  However, is there an easy way to use the pc on my tv in our living room?

What speakers does everyone have.  Currently got a set of creative a60s, but want to go to 2.1. (got 5.1 for the home cinema and the subwoofer makes all the difference).

Just been to the physio as I've been getting pain in my right arm and shoulder for a couple of months now, turns out I have bicep tendonitis and my rotator cuff is knackered.... anyone else experienced these before and how long does it take to get better?

Or mice, take you pick....

Just being nosey, but do you use wired or wireless?  Thinking of getting a programmable mouse rather than the plain 2 button one  have now.  I've always used wired myself, though I can see the lack of cable could be a benefit
