I am makin this post coz i know its not just me who are gettin, confused and dissapointed in the way raids are goin.

1: Now for over 1 month we have bin without a main tank, and it seems like we are not lookin for 1 but gearing up Jim.

one think is to gear up a alt, another is spending time gearing up an tank. I can only say i feel ****ed that we have to gear up a 15 year old kid to be the main tank in the long run (thats how it looks). I cant understand why, cos how can he commit to be a raid tank at 15 years, he's got school, girls, friend. and i belive he will only do it untill he is tired of it (my oppinion u get a tank that had his first char as a tank "warrior")

2: Jim is VERY selfish, and its not only me who are tired of hearing about the next loot he gets, and all HE gets. i have told Jim about this in /W and i thought i would keep it in mind. But its gotten even worse, after he became a tank.

3: i know alot of ppl who have given all to this guild, still Jim has about 3 epic toon and how many does he still want. i can only say i know alot that have deserved more raid time on their alts.

So i come to this final line, please give us a real tank.

no offense limps (and none taken btw) - I gave up raiding on my shaman to help the guild out UNTIL (important fact) we got a willing tank and i could go back to raiding on my shaman... i didn't get asked to make my warrior a tank... i did it by myself (and help from the guild) to get my warrior geared up to help out....

1) I might be 15... no gf... barely any friends, cause im picked on at school... I've commited myself a) to help out the guild b) to get the guild back into doing More runs than Kara... how can you complain?

2) right i might be selfish but if you've known me since i've been in SOG.... i've said EVERY SINGLE RUN that "oh i hope something i need drops from this boss" Its a habit...

3) Yeah i have a fully epic shaman and a semi epic pally... but theres some other people in the guild that have more than 2 alts that have raided kara in their WoW history (no names mentioned)
That Guy that sneaks around from time to time :P

I understand you are frustration RE tanks in SOG.

I must make you aware that insulting someone on the forums is not acceptable.

we are trying to find a warrior tank for the guild but there is the simple reason that tanks are very hard to find. our main tank is dragon rebourne (druid tank).

if you know any warrior tanks then please point them to the forums to apply. we are looking for them.

Jim has shown that he is dedicated to SOG and raiding showing up to virtually all raids, his warrior would not be getting in to raids if there wasnt a need for it, the only other option is to have me playing on my warrior tank at times and he is more willing to do this than i am on my tank as i played tank for a HUGE amount of time pre tbc.

basically in summary if you have any issues please bring it up with an officer, putting a flaming post in the forums will never do anything except provoke ppl.

sheep, on behalf of the officers.

I agree with alot of ya saying limps

1 We are looking and we have 1MT smite at the mo .. with options of Rochup/Jim/Jas/sheep until we find better

The issue of alts has been raised by officers and alts are only allowed into a raid when it is needed - loot will always be to mains
I'm not sure about the direct attack Jim. As long as he is doing as asked by the officers and following raid rules what more can we ask regardless of age or commitments

2 Selfish is too harsh. When asked he has passed on loot to help gear other members.

3 Alt runs are under review at the moment but due to the amount of raid active members its not viable if we want to move on

The post you have made is basically flaming another member rather than giving us something constructive to work on. Its not the kind of post we really want to see in a public forum.. If people have problems with members then PM to an officer rather than popping at someone on an open forum. We are not here to **** people off :g:

Perfectly Valid post that should realistically been sent to all Officers to discuss.

  • We Do need an MT and a Warrior one.
  • As mentioned in Officer chat Jim aint no MT he lacks ....age may not be the right word but maturity.
  • He is better as a Shamen healer..... but he cannot be knocked for his enthusiasm to help the guild. He means well but age shows through. He does get on my nerves but tbf i would end up not talking to anyone if i payed attention to it.
  • Alts and gearing etc. I beleive that we should be trying to push the BEST team at all times and not waste time trying to get alts gear. We should be scrapping Kara and doing ZA at least....even if we keep dying at the first boss. Kara should be fun run only for badges.
So what are we as officers going to do about it?
My suggestion:
  • Recruit a tank.
  • Remove Kara from the schedule. If Kara is to go then do it on a non raiding night but not as an official raid. Something Friday night fun run off the cuff.
  • Stupid as it sounds Pug Gruul. Get everyone from the guild in and tout it between other guilds we know. This is all to get and keep interest in where we are going.
  • If we are to spam recruitment again we need to keep the people we recruit. We lost all new people who have joined recently as they get no action.
I will post more here as i think of them.

LOL everyone posting at the same time ......overlap.

sheepy

i agree with what ur saying there smitey.

pushing the best team in ZA does have its own problem tho, we cant go there without a resonably well geared warrior as soon as we get that full steam ahead!

rolf .... its good to talk :)

Can i suggest an officer meet 30 Min's before the raid on Sundays ...This will be every week....20 Min's to talk on the major points of the week.. Also to allocate small jobs to do thru the following week. ie bump a recruitment post , post raids, sort applications, give the guild a direction

PS ...sheep im unclear why it has to be a warrior ?  will not any good tank type do ?  dunno ?

I dont know about tanking mechanics at all, but doesn't a furball take less damage then a tin-can?

A tactic is great as long as it works, but we have to be able to adapt to changing environment. We have no warriors that can/want to tank. What can we do about it? Get one? Sounds very static... Isn't a tank pr say one that can take a beating and make the mob continue beating on him? Im just on a rant here... But why do we need a warrior for ZA? Cant we have Jas' druid as a OT and smite as a MT? Its two druids, which means... i dont know what the hell that means, but there you go... I can see the bear go down with that group. And the eagle, well... Heal, run to the mob, run from the mob, heal... Can't a drood take that? Im sick and tired of KZ, and i sugest we move on to ZA sooner then later.

You can, but can we choose to not follow through...? :narnar:

Joking aside, sounds like a very smart thing, and as Limpsy pointed out, the members have NO IDEA what we are doing.... Which isn't any good at all...

I like the idea of the regular meeting, I think it will help you all keep on the straight an narrow.  The other major positive is that it will make the meetings short as there will only be changed ontent from one week to discuss (although the early ones might be a little longer whilst the system settles in and 'catches up').

Re tonks:
You can do ZA without warriors for sure.  Best combo is a prot pala (MY) and a feral (who OTs and does dps rest of time).  There is no boss in ZA that requires a warrior (unlike SSC/TK), so going in with 2 ferals or another combo is fine.  Long term you will need a prot warrior as many encounters are designed with an element of interrupt or spell reflect for example that a warrior can provide.

Moving to ZA is not a bad idea tbh as the loot is o much better quality - maybe move the Kara run to an open (alts allowed) run simply for badges and implement a 'toon must be sort of blue and crafted epics geared already' type of rule?  I've seen some simply horrible alts in Kara (greens and no dps/hp/healing) and there does need to be some sort of quality control in there.

reason i said we need a warrior tank is for balance.

TBH as long as we get 2 more tanks then ill be happy would like one of them to be a warrior tho. for the reasons outlined by TL. there are certain things that a warrior is better at (and they look quite cool in guild photos)
