Finally Upgrading

Right, as some of you know I've been uphappy with my computer for a while now, it was blue screening and not giving great performance, so I've made the splash and upgraded. I had:

4200+ X2 Amd
1GB DDR1 Ram
730Watt Hiper PSU
8800GTS 320mb  (severely cpu limited by the 4200+)
19" Flatron LCD Monitor
Logitech Laser MX

I couldn't overclock the cpu without crashing so was stuck with whatever framerates I could muster. I've made the leap to:
Core 2 Q6600 (guaranteed overclock from OC's)
4GB DDR 2 8500 Ram
Same PSU
Same Graphics
22" Dell SP2208WFP
Razor 4000dpi Mouse
Eclipse Keyboard

I'll be out of action for a bit while all this takes place but hopefully then I'll start kicking ass again and not getting stupid crashes all over the place and poor fps.

Nice one on taking the plunge! Did you get the 'guaranteed to overclock to 3.2ghz' CPU then? There was some mass controversy on its forums, basically everyone was saying it was a waste of money and better to just get a normal one.

Yeah, I thought about getting the normal one and trying it and figured it's not worth messing about, this way when I OC I can just set it to 3.30GHz and know that if anything goes wrong I'll get a replacement, rather than benchmarking and worrying about "what ifs" (which I tend to do alot). I don't mind paying a little bit for piece of mind it's a 0.9GHz OC running at a faster FSB so much could go wrong.

Ah ok fair enough! Just thought i'd mention because apparently it's very unlikely they wouldn't reach that and I don't believe they hand pick the CPUs which are guaranteed.
