A few days ago I got a new computer with a better graphics card. These recent cards can be used to do folding with great results. There is clients for both NVIDIA and ATI.

For Nvidia you need a card better than the GE8800. Mine is a 9800GT and in one day/night without stressing it, I turned folding off when I was racing, I did 4300 points.

The client was easy to install and is easy to manage. So if you have a recent card, use it.

Yes please :D See more information in the folding sub-forum here

Since 2004 we have done about 80,000 small projects (work units, or WUs) for Stanford University and our folding team with about 12 mio. points is ranked in top 200 amongst thousands of teams :)

Yes, I just wanted to tell it in this forum because I think there is a lot of unused power here ...

Indeed. I also spam it from time to time, each time with a witty response from Ron :D

Yes indeed. Like the proverbial off a shovel. 2500 with one arm tied behind its back in the last 18hrs. :D

Good work Bob.

I've had a network outage for abt 24 hours so haven't done much lately. Hope its back for good now.

Anyway, I think you will be flying up the lists with that speed.

How do you like your new PC Verner? Is it living up to your expectations? :)

Well I could always have more power in the graphics department, but for folding and racing a silent GPU is a good thing. So in a while I might get a better one like a GTX 280 or something with a liquid cooler. But for now its nice without the screaming of the GPU.

The computer itself with Vista 64 seems very solid. It is difficult to make it "trip over". It runs smooth with very heavy loads.

I got a 22 inch screen maybe I should go for the 24. I have to relearn TrackIr with this wide screen. I get motion sick again. Just like the first few weeks. I'll get over it.

I've had several really superb races in the Skippy on iRacing lately. Its so nice to race close now. When everything moves, even the springs expands and contract. Se attached images

Lately I found out that when two cars touch its not just denting the cars, the paint get scratched too. I did not know that. It was great when I passed a car, looked right and saw that scratched paint.

Noooooo don't post such nice iRacing pictures!! :dribble: That looks awesome, mate. Glad you enjoy the PC. :)

I'm using a 24" monitor, and I think it is perfect for racing / flight sims. Granted, I've never tried a 22"-er, but I'm very happy with the one I have now. Except, of course, that my hardware isn't really strong enough to run it on full resolution (even though I try..), but that's another story. However, remember that the pixel count is ~ 30% bigger on most 24"-ers compared to a 22"-ers (1920x1200 vs 1680x1050), which can make quite an impact on framerates if you want full eye-candy. Not that I think you have to worry about that anytime soon with a PC like yours. ;)
