I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Quote from: sulky_uk;223055also a lot of aircraft are free.... some are pay for.

good source for free ones are www.flightsim.com

all you need to do is register, and if you want faster speeds and no ads pay $15 a year
Git!

Got it for £15 and it just eats the time, I've been doing a few runs between Doncaster, Sheffield and East Midlands. Had it set to real world weather and got a nasty crosswind on take off from Sheffield in the Cessna, sideways take off.

I don't like how it won't accept the local time of my PC when ticked in the settings, always seems to be about 7 hours out when I start it.

Got the local VFR and mesh disks installed and flew the chopper to my house by following the roads. Not very detailed, but combined with the mesh its easy to follow the lay of the land.

I've found the following site is great for the free addons, including the Airbus A380. Its where I got Doncaster airport from and some local landmarks.

I put MS2004 on  and got scared at the amount of information I guess the learning curve would be very high!

As usual I ignored all the text and went with the tutorials..

OMG how annoying is Bob!! "SHUT UP DUMB ASS" so anyway after messing with a few tuts I decided to go solo

set up my flight ok leeds bradford to Manchester 22 minutes

got in the plane set my heading and off I went nice flight made good time

could see Manchester Airport nice and clear erm............................

not done this tut!! so I landed anyway on a random runway got out the plane

and ran!!!

Maybe Sulky could give me some points at the LAN ;)

Is that cos the instructor bailed out as you straffed the runway?

And then TK'd everyone in the departures lounge.
Will strip for badges

Looking forward to crashing a lot at the lan :thumb: I wonder if I can use my pedals from a spare set of driving gear for rudder control? :g:

Well, I have a set of old Logitech Wingman pedals with 25-leg serial me thinks, and also USB. I think USB will be fine, the interesting part is whether FS can recognise the gear? :g:

ok so i did some number crunching and if i land at gib with these scenarios im fecked

more then 50% fuel.. so best take off with that from moroco then
1 engine out....... adds about 400 ft to braking distance on random so failures so......
too much weight........ there'll be even more if i cock this sum up water weighs a lot
land too far down the runway....... get wet

so if i can do it without encountering any of the above im

Yup, Gib always was an "interesting" runway

I had to take the arrestor cable there once after a multiple birdstrike. Very sporting :)
