HMS Vanguard, finished and ready for inspection. remember this model was cast over 55 years ago so the detail isnt what you would get on modern day affairs. whish is why portholes/bridge windows have been painted on. I also decided against the 50 cal machines guns strewn around the deck as it made it look to untidy, so this is how she appeared in august 1960 after all light AA was removed and she was ready for her final voyage to the scrap yard after a carear of only 14 years. Some might think she would have been caked in rust but the decison to scrap was only made mere weeks after a minor overhaul including painting and cleaning of hull, enjoy

and if you remeber ther £20 model i got pre built from ebay, here is HMS Howe (heller 2004) to show you the casting differance 50 years makes

the deck of Vanguard would have looked a lot like howe with the machine guns except on vanguard they removed the armour around them, so the looked like little stick trees sitting on the deck so they had to go

Vanguard was also the first royal navy ship to have a transom stern which helped improve sea keeping qualitys, compare this to Howe

any way there we go, next project ss united states in present rusty condition (using model in built in 1994) and how she did look using a new boxed version of the model i got of ebay

any comments or critisism are welcome (except spelling)

there was a colur key on the back of the box and they were orange although i am tempted to give them a coat of grey to tone it down a bit, also the pic of the props, all the white crap is dust, i just noticed it now, it was from when i bored out the rudder hole and didnt clean it, just in case you were wondering
