No usb - boot disk?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone how I can boot operating systems from a usb on a laptop that doesn't have the option on the bios?

I have read something about boot cd's which then boot from a usb but have been unable to find either a valid download or working cd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I remember doing this on an old laptop with no hard drive a few years back and can confirm it works, it was a linux boot disk not sure which,found this here http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

What I am looking for is a disk that boots to a menu which in turn boots an os from a usb stick?

I have tried ultimatebootcd but not one of the downloaded iso I have tried works!!
