In-game mic not working

Hello whoever is reading this,

I've encountered a problem with my microphone.

I play WoW on my iMac, and I use the built-in mic to talk.

Also, I use the push-to-talk device, because otherwise you would hear too much of my background noise all the time.

When TS is opened and selected, the p-t-t device works fine, but when I'm in-game, it doesn't work...

I believe my mic isn't the problem, because it does work when I use the voice-detection device.

If anyone happens to know how I can fix this problem, please respond!

i have the same problem with swtor, havnt looked into it yet tho, as ive not needed ts for swtor yet

Try another game and see if the problem persists. If it does, I would say it has to do with TS not being the active application when you try to use it. I dunno if that's logical but maybe something about iMacs that they can't run 2 applications as 'active' at once? What I mean is that if you press the key while in WoW, the computer registers that input as directed at WoW, because it is the current active application, and won't try other applications..

I've tested it, and it doesn't even work when I've got any other screen opened... For example, when I'm on facebook, it doesn't work either. Only when TS is the selected screen...

Could it be related to the specific key? Which key are you using?

I'm using F6, and it's an unbound key in WoW...

Right, I just fixed it. It seemed that I had to bind it to one of the standard keys. (Alt, Ctrl, Shift...)

So I'll be able to talk more during raids now, see you guys tomorrow!
