Whilst I would agree Varg, the reason I take 2 tanks such as last weeks EV is for 3 reasons:

1: The tank gets to tank the Trash and Certain bosses, for Example Krek'la Tanked the 1st boss of EV and also the 5th for a time, had she been in DPS spec this wouldnt have been viable.

2: if the main tank dies, the Offtank should be 2nd on the Agro tables or be able to pick the boss up isntantly as was seen on the 5th boss when Imho was crushed by the pyramid, had we had sufficient DPS alive still the boss would have died with Offtank Tanking.

3: If the main tank should have to leave suddenly due to net connection or RL issues (has happened before with RGW) and the offtank is in DPS spec, we would have to wait for said Offtank to port out of the instance, change spec, put  all points back and get tank kit from bank which would delay the OP for around 20/30min which since we raid for such a short time period wud be a killer.

On the subject of HM, if everyone is doing them to aquire colomni gear (the normal OP's equipment) and gathers sufficient other purple armour/weapons, the progression from Normals to hards will progress much faster.

Your points are valid, Vladic, and I respect why it is done. Just noting that it is not really needed in a perfect world, and we would have less issues with enrage timers if we didn't do this. I suspect many of our most dedicated players are starting to get over geared for normal modes already making my concerns invalid as long as we keep at normal modes. For hard modes my point stands firm though ;)

On that note, I think we should have a seperate thread where we look into who wants to push hard modes, two ops nights etc. and who just wants to see content with a casual 1 day a week schedule. As we have discussed already, if you try to combine these two player "types" into one group, neither will be happy. I'll leave it up to ops leaders and council to make an appropriate thread with polls and thoughts on this matter though. I think we have derailed this topic far enough, and I am probably the one most responsible for that :flirty:

Everything aside, it would've been nice if I could go in as a DPS, but then again, tonight the 3D Star Wars is in cinemas, so I'm gonna see epic battle of Qui-Gon and Maul!

Lucky krek, got to wait another week to see it :(.  On another note can i point out 2 tanks are pretty much required for both OPS.

EV - Pylons.  Gharj adds
Karragas (from what i have seen) - The Twin bounty hunter bosses.

Even if it were possible for normal to do it without 2 tanks somehow, HM and nightmare will need 2 in definite,  having  2 tanks also allows for more than just 1 tank to get gear when 2 can get geared up at the same time.  Sure it might be a bit slower minus 1 dps but in the long term it's beneficial.

Adds on pylon are not immune to stun, cc, knock back, knock down etc. they don't need to be tanked.

The healer bounty hunter in Karragas hits like a girl, and does not need a tank.

But as I said, I see the benefit.

The Acklays need tanked, when they come in 2's and 3's that is.

I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong :flirty:
