Micro SDHC Hell

Happy New Year Peeps, I have a Sandisk Ultra Micro SDHC Class 10 32GB storage card that has been living happily in my wife's HTC Desire S. The phone was becoming so slow I decided to root it and put a decent custom ROM on there and (after a fair old technical battle) the new rom worked great with the old card. I then decided to push 7GB of Spotify backup onto the card (not one file, many) which locked up my phone and PC and since then I'm getting a max of 100Kbps transfer speed on or off the card either in phone, in SD slot or USB adapter. It refuses to mount now and as I had a backup I'm now trying to repartition and format it clean. No tool I've found can get the job done so please does anyone know about these cards and has managed to overcome such a problem?

I have 2 more of these working fine in my Xoom and S2.
