Google Reader is being retired soon, so I'm on the lookout for a replacement.

Anyone got any decent recommendations for a reader?    I've got my JSON file ready to import into a new service but have not got a clue which one to use, so any suggestions are appreciated!

Right now I'm having a go with both Feedly and Netvibes.

Feedly looks more like a Flipboard, Pocket style of app. I imagine they are going for the tablet market with it's UI. However it still works pretty well as a standard RSS reader.

Netvibes is a bigger app with  a paid version. It's looks like it's a all in social network and trend following program for people who work in media etc. However the free versions can be endlessly tweaked to make it look like what you want, including a bog standard list style RSS reader.

I'm tending to prefer Feedly as it has a nice Android app and browser plugin. Right now it just works with your Google Reader feeds but the Dev's have said they plan to migrate everyone across to their own service before Google Reader shuts down.

Seems Google just want us to get our news fix from G+ now?

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Very much liking the sound of Feedly, think I'll be giving that a try first!

Thanks
