Don't suppose anyone's got a smartstart cd for a 1999 vintage proliant 1600R/600?

Betcha no-one has and you're all going to laugh, aren't you.

Hve you tried Nige and his 'Child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' light footed/fingered ways? I'll bet he has one.

Tell me what version you need. I think that I have most versions back to 4.0 in the cupboard at work and I'll copy a CD for you - I will not be in work until Monday though.

BigFatCat

Ain't got a clue what version, though 4 sounds like it might be a goer.

Didn't think Nige'd have any tat like that left, being married with kids means waving goodbye to manly stuff that's been, er, redeployed from work.
I've a chance I might have it sussed tomorrow, as it's only the RAID array I want to configure, the rest is easy just it asks for poxy floppies when trying to config the array in the BIOS.

I'll have a dig around at work, We may have a 1600 in our back room that I can play with to see what works. What Smart Array Card is it? 3200 or 4200?

By the way, I have shedloads of memory for those things. If you need some just call - postage only :)

BigFatCat

Describes itself as a "SmartArray 221". I'm going to assault it again today so I'll find out some more.

If work want more RAM, they can buy it. Of course, knowing a supplier who can undercut others is handy ;)

Used my patented server configuration methodology "buggeraboutandswearlots", I've managed to configure the array as I wanted.
Quite pleased with myself.
