my ping to MH

Right, My ping to meathook is often in the 60-70 region, and I don't think it should be <_< seeing as I'm in the UK on a bulldog 1Mb (well, 2Mb atm) adsl line. Any ideas on tweaking my pc/modem for a better ping? Modem is an alcatel speedtouch USB manta-ray thing. Those look fine. My ping on CS servers is always higher than on RedOrchestra Server. (CS is about 60 and RO is about 30)
