SQL / Dashboard / metrics

Gents,

I have access to the backend DB (via SQL) of our ticketing and CMDB system. I want to set up some kinda dashboard. What's the best way to go about it.

I can do base queries, but I guess from a web page to directly access the sql piece and update...

I need to break this down into manageable chunks, so figure the queries, set up a basic page that uses those queries then tart up.

Bear in mind here that I have no SQL and no ASP experience (other than Oldies kindly shared help before)
