TF2 request from Lee

I've had the following PM from Lee ...

Hi there Oldie, I was wondering what your personal opinion is of reintroducing a Team Fortress 2 server for a trial period at least?

The reason I believe it failed previously was due to no-one being a true "leader". I feel commited to getting other members onto the game. Previously I managed to get about 10 dMw members playing (although not all at the same time). I know that a few other members would like to see the reintroduction of the server and feel just as commited. I just feel it's a shame we don't have a TF2 server considering how team based the game is.

Public wise I think the server would do excellently if we keep the settings vanilla (standard settings, standard maps, with only admin mods), as I know the TF2 community is dying for a good low ping vanilla server. I set up a dedicated server on my own network and people were joining quite regularly when only two members were in the server, unfortunately the high ping meant it wasn't really usable.

Thanks for reading that long post anyway, whatever the outcome.

I'm more than happy to see the TF2 server back as a trial, particularly as Lee is willing to lead on it.

I don't know Lee at all well so, before I reply to him, do those of you who do know him think he would make a good admin on TF2 and would he promote TF2 in the manner we would expect of him?

Lee is a public admin on CS and if he was more regular I wouldn't have any issues with giving him full admin.  He has a mature attitude and I'm sure he would promote TF2 in line with the dMw ethos.

I've kicked off an update of Razer so that it's ready if needed.
