Dr Sadako

I suggest that we have an unreal tournament III server. The gameplay is quicker than CSS and CoD4 so teamplay and tactics need to be in place or your team will loose.

There are the following game modes that I think would work within dMw

Capture the Flag (CTF) - Two teams where each team try to capture the opponents flag and return it to their flag base to score point.

Vehicle Capture the Flag (VCTF) - Same as CTF but with the possibility to use vehicles. Requires more organised teamplay as you are more vunerable and it is not possible to go and do your own thing.

Warfare mode - Warfare is a node-based mode where each team has a base with a power core that needs to be damaged and destroyed for a victor to be declared. The power core is linked to other nodes at various spots in the map. You must push forward, capture nodes, and link them together until you've got your team's nodes linked to the opposing team's base. At that point, you can damage the enemy core and, ideally, blow up it for a victory. There's a ton of pushing and shoving back and forth across the map when two great teams square off, and it's also the most strategic mode. It differs from onslaught mode by offering secondary objectives, like unlinked nodes that can be captured to give a team forward spawn points and access to more vehicles and a countdown node that will occasionally drain energy from the enemy core if you control it. Each of the objective-based team modes comes with its own set of maps.

I think all three modes could work well on a dMw server. However, Warfare and VCTF requires larger player numbers to get the best gameplay whereas CTF is ok down to 4 vs 4.

Great Idea....it has my vote!

Hope it gets approved. Could we have a show of hands, from those who have the game and would play. :byebye:

Considering the game is £5 and can be steam registered it should be quick to increase in size the number of people playing. I'd play it.

Chaps.

We've talked through this request and the unanimous consensus is that we haven't really got the member traffic to justify having a 4th FPS Server without spreading ourselves too thinly across the other three supported FPS games (L4D, CS:S and CoD4).

Also, it's not as though it's a new game which would have the attraction of bringing in new members.....

Perhaps we can review it in a few months' time once it has been ascertained how widely it's being played.

Thanks

OK, but can we have a server running at the LAN and then we can have a blast? :)

I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

You're welcome to play anything you like at the LAN, it just won't be an official game and we won't have a competition for it.

But of course you're free to play it as people are any game. Just please not when we're running the mass table comps on the Saturday :)
