Defence Grid 2 Kickstarter + Free DG1 Thread.

As several of you already know I'm a big fan of Defence Grid. It's a great tower defence game with plenty of replay-ability and with well done steam integration you can compete to beat your friends scores.

The game was used as part of the run-up to the launch of Portal 2 with additional levels added then, and there's been DLC along the way - always at a reasonable price <£3.

Today the game is on special offer 75% off meaning the game + all DLC comes to just £3 total (rather than the usual £12). However I wouldn't jump on that deal as there's an even better one.

They're seeking funding for a sequel. So for $15 you will get a free copy of the original game to keep, and DLC to keep (these codes arrive before the funding is even successful so if they don't reach $250,000 you get the original for free), these are also completely separate to the final reward so you can give these away to someone else and still get the sequel to keep if it gets funding.

I jumped on the early bird special $20 which comes with a load of extras, but providing the game gets funding the $15 level will give you two great games.


If anyone is unconvinced I have a copy of the game and a copy of the DLC (both on separate steam keys) going spare (from the kickstarter) first to contact me on steam gets it, I'm in the steam group if you need to add me (It's easier sending gifts directly via steam). Once you've tried it I'm sure you'll love it enough to stump the $15 and have a spare copy of your own to give back.

I really hope this gets funded but if it doesn't signing up will give you a free game so there's no excuse not to.
