Analyse this....... what did Ghostcrawler mean when he said this yesterday:

Any news on 25men raiding and incentives for them? Numbers of guilds still dwindling, you mentioned a developer blog
We have an idea, but it's a bit controversial so we're not ready to spring it on you yet.

Could you give me a reason as to why 25man raids don't just straight up drop items that already are already 2/2 upgraded?
Because that would cause progression-oriented 10 player raids to feel like they had to switch to 25s to benefit from the ilevel.(Source: Twitter)
They clearly don't want to incentivise raiding to one raid size or the other by giving 25 man raiding better loot.    So what do they mean?

So do they want one raid to rule them all?  (e.g. 15 man raiding only instead of 10 or 25)
The Twitter follow up seems to indicate not, so what are they talking about?

This comment is interesting, if a little perturbing.    Anyone got thoughts on it?

It's difficult to interpret mainly because it's so typically Ghostcrawler-vague.  Unfortunately with Twitter answers limited to so few characters you never really seem to get enough info.

In some ways I wish they would just go to 15 man raids and drop the distinction, it would surely make content easier to design and save time on the differences so they could develop better, targetted content.  But ofc it's extremely difficult to force a change of that magnitude on their whole raiding player base.

I hope they don't incentivise 25 man raiders, as that is the equivalent of de-motivating/de-valuing 10 man raiders.

Agreed, but then they forced a change from 40 man to 25 & 10, so anything is possible.    Design would be far fairer and simpler and it would avoid some of the massive problems that having 2 raid sizes gives them today and that we experience every week (afaiaa they design for 25 man, then adjust to 10 man).

The incentive bit was what really confused me, I've been thinking through how to add incentives for 25 man raiding without at the same time providing a strong disincentive to 10 man raids, without at the same time changing raid group sizes.   That's the bit where my brain started to hurt!

Agreed!  I guess we just have to wait for more clear info :)
