Origin pointsystem?

It seems Origin is holding up some kind of achievement point system for the games: BF3, DeadSpace 3 and Mass Effect 3.
Looks like it's a Prestige kind of thing but I'm wondering what they'll do with it as you get Origin points for the achievements.
Now what are those Origin points good for? :g:

It seems to have something to do with the Origin-Beta.
Survivor of LAN V, VI, VIII, IX, X, XII, XIV, XVI, XVIII, XX, XXIV, XXX, XXXII, XXXIV and XXXVI so far...
