Powerplay Update

The next release of Elite will include Powerplay.

If you've read the info you'll see that we as players will be able to ally with a 'Power'.

Detailed information isn't available as yet but it does seem that making the wrong choice and then switching later has consequences. With that in mind, and because of our teamwork ethos, it would be best to wait until the Game Leader and his admin team have weighed up the options before we all join the chosen Power en masse.

That and 2 new ships to oggle.. hmm, rumor has it that the diamond back is a miner specialist ship...

Just so the community knows. I'm discussing this update with Arithon and SneakyTiger out of band to see if we can agree some common sense way to make sure we don't end up with players vs players in different factions. It might involve playing the waiting game as Frontier aren't divulging the full details quite yet. Beta testers should have a glimpse of the new update soon and can feedback to us.

It would be fun to do it, until you get the repair bill for the big ship...

But, like you have already said, its under wraps atm. And we will have to play wait and see...

Only then can we make an "informed community choice", as we need facts and information in order to reach a decision..
