motherboard:
jetway P4845

Graphics:
Radeon 9200
256MB RAM

do i nedd a faster cpu or motherboard, or both ????

Grimnar

nope you don't need a faster MB or CPU.

Try updating your Radeon 9200 drivers.
And also your directX 7 to 9.

How many bones do they go for these days?

Fistly the card is DX8.1 so DX 9 settings is not going to help it.
Second, as has been mentioned, it is relatively old and slow. Not meaning anything nasty by that just commenting based on facts from Dr Toms Review. The 9200 gives between a quarter and a third of the throughput of a 9800XT depending on the game (NB that these scores are on a 3.2GHz P4!!!!). That coupled with 512Mb RAM and you are going to struggle from the off with modern games that prefer lots of memory to really get going.

For a cheap small improvement you could try more memory.

A better card will give biggest improvement

A faster CPU will give some improvement I'm sure but go for the graphics card first.

More memory, faster CPU and better graphics is luxury of course ;)

Bear in mind that the 9800XT I mentioned above will be further surpassed by another 50% to 100% by an x800XT or 6800GT (another review)

thanks guys for your help,

i aint had the ati card for long lol, i better start saving.

im the mean time shall i consider overclocking, i do realise that i will loose my guarante but who cares.

i take it a 1.7GHz cpu is cool for now then  :lmfao:

DarkAngel

I Should think a overclock to 2GHz should be ok.
