The problem is that there's no way to setup the server to change map when one side or the other reaches a set number of rounds. The only option is to play a set number of rounds for each map. However, as long as that number is odd then there has to be an overall winner.

I'm gonna start off at 13 X 4min rounds as a tester. So first team to 7 rounds has won the map.

Well I thought it worked quite well last night.
No more waiting for the map to end while the other team are kicking your butts mercilessly.  8)  No more 'Oh god not another 10 minutes of this!'
Though it does engender a certain lackadaisical attitude when one team has reached the magic number of rounds way before you have.  :whistle:

It does give the losing team an excuse to go barmy once you know you've lost too.  :dribble:  Or even the winning team! Might make for much more hilarity and fun playing after a few rounds of intense concentration.  :devil:
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I like the idea of MR actually, what I would like to see if maybe a screen msg after each round showing current score and maybe a little 'gee up' msg for the losing team.

Par example:


CT's won the last round and currently win by 9-5.

 Come on you T's we need this one.



No idea if it's possible but I feel it would tend to push people towards realising it's how we play.

I suggest we stick with MR13@4mins for now and see how that pans out. After all, if we admins are doing our team-balancing act properly then most maps should be close up to the wire.

I still like the idea of having mr13 or a winning limit of 13 or something alongside the timelimit in case the maps a slow one... :whistle:

The 13 round thing seemed to work quite well last night.

I must admit that I didn't find it very appealing initially but it played OK. My concerns were based on the fact that some of the best rounds I have been in (not played just been in) were when we were getting trashed by the other side and you had a long hard fight back and made it. You can't do that in 13 rounds.

So, I think I'm a convert ;)
