Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Got one of them as you would have seen at the last LAN (not in green but in black)
Im happy with it easy to work with snap in everything no screws and i think it can take 5 fans (slots available)
Im still thinking of buying the different side panel with a window and getting cathode lights but dunno yet ...its under a desk and the only time u would see it is at a LAN.

Dr Sadako

I have the blue one.  :D

I need to get a new case and was considering one of these but i was wondering about noise levels as i want to get something pretty quiet that dont sound like a helicopter taking off....what these like ?

I bought 4 Zalman case fans with resistors. My CPU temp went from 57 deg C (in my old case) to 42 deg C in my Chieftec. :D

Why don't you lot stop buying those Athlon boilers and buy Intel instead?

You'd save a fortune on fans/heat sinks/cases  :P

Which you would have spent three times over buying your intel chip.

It was actually the addition of a new HD that raised the temperature in my old case.

Silent running (<25db) fans are a real bonus in cases, but to get rid of the CPU fan noise I switched the CPU heatsink and fan for a Zalman Flower and Zalman fan  (both much queter and cooler for thr the CPU) and the PSU for an Enermax unit with variable fan speed designed to run 'silently'.  The noise levels dropped significantly with this set up.

Shame the zalman is rated to XP 1900+

No good for my 2700+ :)

Now these look good.

Cake: Four large eggs. One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Three/four cups butter or margarine. One and two third cups granulated sugar. Two cups all purpose flour. Fish shaped ethyl benzene. Twelve medium geosynthetic membranes. Three tablespoons rhubarb, on fire.

Mmmm, in silent mode (20dB) this will support AMD >2600+

http://www.zalman.co.kr/english/product/cnps6000Cu.htm

Normal mode will obviously support much more than that. Normal mode is 33dB and the controller allows you to vary between those speeds in a stepless fashion.  I have a Zalman (an older model than the link above) and it easily copes with a 2.53Ghz PIV even on the slowest setting
