LOL - nothing wrong with a polite diversion - and anyway, imaging is on topic!

I think wiping your drive completely and reapplying a clean image is a good way to keep that drive crisp, clean and lean!

Which means less 'judders' - even defragging stops being effective after so long.

I have stutters once in a while in the game, well real lag, and when I have them I asked a few times if other did as well - and they did. So perhaps it is the load in the server or something...? Or I might be rambling :)

OK, OK, I've read the tutorial, and I think I can interpret the data.

I have no packet loss, and average round trip time of 174. I will be running the plotter for a little while. I think I'll let it run for an hour or so. This should cover my usual gaming time.

I am beginning to think it is not my connection.

I've defragged the harddrive, and the paging file is about 1,5 of memory (minimum - it is computer controlled), cleaned the registry.

I'll get on the server later this evening (in about one hour) and check things out.

You let the pingplotter go yeah? If I'm correct it made a file some where on your computer. Search the file...Press Print Screen, host it somewhere or send it to someone who could host it for you (I'd do it, just send it to:
timmermanpeter AT hotmail.com). Then the fellas like TL and BB can read it and can see at which hop from server to server or connection to connection where it goes wrong.

Yeah, I have no place to host. Yet.

My new ISP will provide me with a place to host, but for now I haven't had time to put the site up.

Don't know if anyone is still following this thread, but here goes:

I defragged my drive, killed some unneccessary services, killed Zonealarm, put graphics dowm to medium. Everything worked fine.

Now I've put graåhics up to high (on terrain, textures and effects, rest is still on medium), keeps Zonealarm running. The game is a bit choppy the first ten - fifteen seconds into a new map, and after that it is OK.

I did configure my router so that it gives priority to any traffic initiated to or from BF2.

Works like a charm. I'm back!!!  :D
