It was fun. Yeah, had we some spare tickets we would have got it. You held the first flag very well.

Lots of fun, even though I had to quit before my favourite infantry only map: Karkand....

I had a bit of emergency here - we have a storm outside, and I had to go up on the roof to put back on a metallic lid on the chimney... it was pouring water into our wooden stove...  now it is fixed.  :D

shame it still takes me 6+mins to join....

even tho I've got 2 gig RAM

all should be well v.soon when I get me new pc, but this is still annoying.

I made it onto the server tonight, chose squad, and got kicked...

good job you lot couldn't hear me :ranting:  :ranting:

I like the infantry only nights...is there a Mod for it? in which we could choose not to have tanks, apc's etc, but can put in a few more jeeps :P

there was 7 on our side so I started my own squad...I let the other squad take the 2 jeeps so they were together, and there was none left for me :(  so it took ages for me to get into position each time...I suppose I could've taken an apc for transport only, but I was unsure of the exact rule on that....so i left it...and walked.

Liberator is working on a mod to change all vehicles into jeeps.  so if he can get that working should sort the transport shortage.

but you can't use banned vehicle for transport. one way around that would be to spawn at a different flag.

More enjoyable games last night  :)

I really enjoyed the infantry only games. We seemed to use parts of some maps that you don't normally use that much.

Got it to work on the single player map, all vehicles spawned as FAAV dune buggy thingies.

But when I try running it on my server, it loads okay but clients bomb out to the desktop. :(

Working on it.

INFANTRY ONLY MAP

download map 14MB

The map is designed for an Infantry only style of play with 16, or 32 players. There are no tanks, Artillery, Planes or other distraction to good game play. The map is designed around a linear style city in the Middle East with a USA and MEC camp at each end of the map. Watch out for ther emplaced weapons. Get to the three spawn points fast and hold them at all costs if your side is to be glorious.

Never played this map, not sure on your stance on custom maps either... but it looks good

Looks like there is an MD5 checksum verfication when loading up the default maps. The changes I made in levels invalidates the checksum so the client drops out.

Looks like I can't change content of existing base maps on the server only. Only way around would be to copy the level and modify it as a new one with a fresh or modified name.

Oh well.  :(

I'll keep playing around with it.
