fps and smoothness

after changing my hd over a couple of days ago, ive put all the relevent drivers and whatnot,
now, i used to get 100fps on cz no probs and it was nice and smooth.my monitor was set to 100 hz and fps max was set to 100.vert refresh was set to on  if application asked.
now when i set it to the above settings its jerky and choppy...i can only seem to get it smooth if i set vert refresh to on..but then i only get 60fps....
Any clues? :unsure:

agp? agp drivers installed? Your description sounds like my pc before I updated the agp gart drivers. my 9800pro wasn't happy and the ati "smartgart" driver thingies weren't working.

the new 5-11 drivers were slated in the ati forums



roll back to the 5-10 they were more stable
