Whisky anyone?

This is Nordschleife I have the track on GTL and I propose to offer a bottle of (good) whisky to the fastest lap put up by anyone at the LAN. It will be run on MY machine complete with all the geeky bits. 3pedals, gearshift DFP wheel with a REAL Sparco racing wheel, incar view with NO aids! Entry will be free. 2 laps of 'The Mother', in a Lotus Elan. 1 out lap and one timed lap. In general a lap takes about 10 minutes so this is not for the faint hearted.  :devil:

But not as good as the RUF Porsche - Stefan Rosler video, seen that a few years ago, if you want to see some serious driving by the famous porche test driver, check him out in the CTR yellowbird... oh and I must mention I've raced against (upto 190 mph) and seen a CTR yellowbird driven in anger, they are awsome cars, old too around 1989-90 but not much beats them!

Thats done it. Now I'll have to get out and buy a whell to practice! I've had the game since before christmas and its still in the shrinkwrap. This is the incentive I need.

The video was just to show the uninitiated what Nordschleife was all about. Eye watering stuff is the Hans-Joachim Stuck BMW M3 GTR lap! Sorry, can't find a link atm.

Ahem! This is an ill-disguised attempt to get more people involved with GTL (or any racing SIM for that matter) The idea being that in order to show what a REAL driver can do, you'll get the game and practice! So by the time of the LAN IX you'll all be 'au fait' with the car/track and will only need one hot lap! Sneaky eh?

erm I was talking about real life, not pc games, I was a passenger in an Lambo Muircelago (we clocked 186mph, his clutch was on the way out) going flat out against a CTR Yellowbird, which recorded a 196 mph vMax
