I've had a look as it doesn't look free to me. It looks like it costs a minimum of $4.99 per slot per month

if u go down, u can see when u but a sf server, u get 32 ranked bf2 server.

But we would still have to *BUY* a SF server to get a free BF2 server - still costs money .... unless I'm missing something?

Well, good luck trying to get the badges and medals and so then. It took me quit a while to get this far.
Now I'm back to CZ for a bit.
I must say that after the recent patches it's quit difficult to get some badges and so but also easy to get the sniperbadge.
Good luck medalhunting...

About Rankedservers. They will allways cost you around 5 dollars, Euro, pounds per month per sloth. I still don't think it's worth it for -=[dMw]=- to start one as it has to be well adminned but the costthing is also worrying.

The dollar may compare favourably to the pound at the moment, but the community would still have to find a means to pay for it. And the effort involved with getting it set up would far outweigh any reward we'd get from it. I think I can confidently speak for all the BF2 Admins here when I say:

-=[dMw]=- will not be running an EA ranked BF2 server. Period.

The whole me, me, me play style they encourage just does not fit in with what we do here.

By all means feel free to play on the plethora of ranked servers that are already out there. When you get tired of being fragged because the guy next to you is more intent on getting knife kills for some poxy badge, rather than helping you shoot at the enemy...

...then come back here. We'll still be here playing the game properly.

I was only pointing out that there was no free server offer - whichever way you look at it.

I didn't make any personal opinion as to whether I would like one or not

As LIB said, I can't see DMW ever paying for a ranked server whatever the price as it promotes a style of selfish game play that we strive to avoid.

That said, several members, myself included, have played on ranked servers so if it's a ranked game you're after then I'm sure you will find some willing members for a foray.

I think the OBC clan's servers are ranked and they're a nice bunch of people so it may be a good place to start. However just make sure you find you way back home here once you've had enough !

We do appreciate the effort ID it's just that we don't want a RANKED server. It detracts from the way we like to play - hopefully you'll see that?
