My Girfriends Pussy (cat)

Our cat was in the Daily Record and The Sun last week and he has had agencies chasing him this week offering us money to let them write about him!!
Seriously hes a strange cat and a formidable hunter he has brought home ...mice voles various birds loadsa unidentified innards (sometimes thats all thats left teeth n guts) a lugworm and what all the fuss is over ......fish! He catches his own fish mostly eels from the rockpools on the beach.His biggest catch was about 18" long eel. This time though he didnt chew properly and the eel got stuck at the back of his throat and when he stuck his paw in there to get it out he mustve scratched inside his throat as there was blood all over him and he was choking. Emergency vettage aint cheap!!!!! At least his fee will cover his vet bill and have some left over so his dad can have a beer  
He mebbe gonna be in take a break or chat or whatever those weekly gossip mags are called.

lol..... ours is something of a mean hunter as well ..... various offerings are brought back to show us her hunting prowess...countless mice,vowls, lost count of birds(varying sizes, some that are so big they wont fit through the catflap ...so she has to make do with making loads of noise on the back lawn until you go out to her) ..........she even kills some of them sometimes !!!! :eyebrow:

I am really surprised she's not brought back a duck yet...as we have a canal about 50 yards from the house ...


A real change from the last one we had....he was just too bone idle to do ANYTHING !!!!!.. :whistle:

Back when our second cat turned up (we had one, second one turned up, now first one has died of old age ) the two of 'em had competitions as to who could bring the biggest thing back. First the newbie left a shrew on the doorstop, so our old cat brought over a mouse (no catflaps, so they got left on the steps just outside the door). Then the new one comes back with a bird (something small. A bluetit I think), so the old one hauls over a fairly large rat. New one appears with a baby rabbit, so the old one turns up with one of the biggest rabbits i've ever seen. Almost as big as she was. This over the course of 2 weeks or so.

Then the dog ate it. In 2 bites. I'm quite amazed he wasn't sick. I'm fairly certain he didn't chew, even the skull, but it all went down.

The new cat also had the tendency to eat most of the mouse, but leave the head and internals behind in a small pile on the doorstep. Most of the time the mouth->stomach pipey thing, stomach, and intestines and such were still all connected, so she must have had nimble teeth. No bones left though  :blink:

Of course, nothing beat the old cat when she was in her youger years (back before I was born, in fact) and dragged a live stoat into the house and was toying with it in the utility room  :blink: Dad had to put on some really thick gloves and carry it outside in case it was only playing dead instead of actually being so. As soon as he put it on the ground it shot off into the woods.

Since our cat died 3 years ago, the number of birds roosting/feeding/nesting in our garden has multiplied tenfold...

well fed domestic Cats kill so much wildlife for their own amusement(and that of their owners, apparently) that the songbirds & small mammals don't stand a hope in hell.

they are not a native species, although they have been with us for hundreds of years, and are an additional pressure on our native wildlife that they could well do without.

I'm not suggesting that all cats should be exterminated...that would be unrealistic and unreasonable (I would shed few tears though)..but it would be nice if cat owners would take a bit of care of our endangered wildlife.

put a bell on it's collar, keep it in as much as you can at this time of year when birds and small mammals are breeding...anything you can to stop the carnage.

or get a dog

Even with the industrial strength bell on his collar he will capture birds/small rodents. Doesnt help the fish one bit tho!! Heres some pictures of Jack Daniels victims

On the dog front my bro has a 10 month old staffordshire bull terrier and she wont go near Jack(she did once and got scratched to bits) He is very protective of his territory i spose.

The piccy of the feathers all over the floor is the same as a time I was on nights and the post man had a package for us so had to knock on the door ... I had been in bed for about 1&1/2 and hours when he woke me up with the loudest banging you ever heard .... I thought the house was on fire or something, so quickly jumped out of bed and threw my dressing gown on ...went downstairs and was still virtually asleep (vision blurred) ....as I got to the bottom of the stairs my feet hit the laminate flooring in the hallway I just caught sight of loads of little black things running round the floor .... :blink: (nearly had a bleedin' heart attack)!!!!

 I thought we had a plague of cockroaches or large insects... but as my eyes focused I saw they were all feathers..... and right near the front door was the bloody carcass of a Thrush or large sparrow .... the postmans face was a picture when I opened the door and he noticed the carnage inside and me stood there in my dressing gown and just calmly signing for the parcel... needless to say he quickly got his signature and went .   :roflmao:
