Forgive me if I sound like an old curmudgeon but how many more ways do we need to keep in touch with people? Let's see, we have Telephones both landlines and mobile, email, msn messenger, XFire and all the other instant messenger variants, Teamspeak and the other one, voip, Mirc. Blimey! The list goes on!(that's another way of saying "I can't think of any more")
Enough already!

Sorry about that, it is nice to communicate, but hey......

Sorry for sending you those links mate.

It depends on what you want to do with these networks. I don't use the for chat or to stay in cotact as you say. I use it as a resource. I use it to find people who can provide me with the knowledge I need.

I am part of a management network for instance, where I find people doing the same as me, in jobs I would like, and ask them for experiences and how to apply in the best way and such.

I am crazy about the old Fiat 124 Spider European CS1-model and orkut has a nice newgroup for that to whre I can learn details I can't find in books.
