Hi all

Id like to hear how we look on people "saving up" dkp for one special item they want. For example headpiece from Ony. - Thus passing on other items they actually would get, items that are kinda needed to ensure the success of raids. And items that would either go to Bank or DE.

Hm yeah this is a tricky one.

Personally i wouldnt want a personal to pass on Lawbringer Helmet (tier1) because he wanted the Judgment Helmet (tier2) first before anyone. Thats brings us back to that we should maybe tighten the rules about Tier2 loot (also the ones from Ragnaros and Majordomo)

Maybe we should make a rule that you should have 6 pieces of Tier1 before you can get any Tier2, and in the event that Tier2 drops and noone has enough Tier1, then its the one with most Tier1 items that gets first pick?

That rule ^^ should really get people focusing on the Tier1 loot, and we all know how important that is too have to be successful at Ragnaros.

/agree

We can really feel the lack of Tier 1 on raiders when doing Ragnaros (RG2), and I think this has something to do with the fact that some actually "saves up" their DKP for Tier 2 (Raggy+Ony) - We will continue to struggle with Raggy for a long time if like 15-20 RG2 thinks this way.

- I hate to see a person with tier 0, and green rings+trinkets get Tier2 head/Pants when he has like 500 dkp and none spend. This tells me that the person have saved his DKP for Tier2, and has not been gearing up for the sake of RG2's success.

I can see this happen. Maybe Tier1 has to be set to like 4 pieces?

Would really like to hear more input on this subject?

Agree on Sazguls opinion and thinks Paddings idea is really good, I vote for that.

We did a check on a player last night after the raid and could not find any thing wrong in his DKP.
He has not yet have the opportunity to get any items in RG2 raids. There have only being drop 1 items with him in raid he could us and at that time he only got 90 DKP and there was others who got more DKP.
But he have the opportunity to get it from the bank, that's right.

The player was just lucky to participate in last sundays RG1 raid to BWL and did get alot of DKP there that's why he was at top of the list last night.

But overall this shows we maybe need some new rules on this matters to keep people focusing on the Tier1 set.

GD not nameing names here  :)  - But last night kinda opened my eyes to a potentioal problem here.

Sure I wanted that Nemesis Head myself, im on 7/8 tier1 atm. and the dude that got it was 0/8, and had said to me directly in /w he waited for the Nemesis Head to drop before anything else. But fair shall be fair, and he had more DKP than me, so be it. It'll drop again :D

I just dont wanna see the scenario where "everyone" waits for tier2 to drop and disregards their tier1 and rely on other to "drag" them through Ony + Raggy kills for the tier2 items. When a person with tier 0 and almost no fireres gets to Ony, he's almost sure of beeing killed, and laying on the ground until the raid has killed Ony.

I want people to think "Id better gear up for my friends in RG2, so that we as a group can kill Raggy 1 time every week" - If someone dosent think this way, we might wanna "force" them too  :D  - hence Paddings suggestion.

So we might wanna for a post on forums for RG2 members to read when and if all votes for Paddings suggestion is a good idea?

We already have a rule saying must have 4 T1 before taking T2, but we exempt Ragnaros and Onyxia drops from this.  It's difficult to mandate things but I recognise the storage of DKP as a problem, I just don't have defined ideas as to how best to proceed unless you move to the 'officers will decide who gets the loot' rule.

While we're at it, why didn't Luthor take those cloth gloves the other night from Razegore? With is 'uber spirit build' he should have taken them.

Suggestion:
What about removing the "but we exempt Ragnaros and Onyxia from this" for the RG2?

If noone has, the one with the most Tier1 gets? Wouldn't be so big a deal too look up 2-4 ppl on DKP site for their earlier loots?

Our thinking at the time was that in order to get T2 beyond the MC/OL runs you would have needed to collect 4 T1 items.  Combined with 2 T2 items, you now have someone going into BWL with 6 epic items which is a good absolute minimum starting point.

I would suggest as a first step we all watch for DKP hoarders.  We have spotted and dealt with several of these in RG1 (Luthor was the most recent) and a discussion with them will usually solve the problem.

Failing that then yes we could look to remove the MC/OL exemption.  The counter argument to that is that the raid benefits more by seeing a Blue > T2 upgrade than a T1 > T2 upgrade.  The defence to that is that the Blue person should have been 3 parts T1 by then already had they not done all that 'passing'.

My bottom line is that every raider should take every piece of epic kit they can get their hand on as it comes their way.  DKP hoarders are not playing for the team and we're most likely to lose them to other raids as soon as they stop getting drops that they want.

Deadlyspirit

The spot with nemmesis helm. has been checked out as GD says. And we shoud probely just start inspecting ppl more and say hmm that is a upgrade for you why dont you take it. and that way explain them what this is all about.
Deadlyspirit 60 G Mage / Naturpower 60 NE Druid
XpiRai 60 NE Warrior / Deadlyblow 60 H Rogue
 Holylight 60 H Priest / Holy 60 H Paladin
Shadowforce 60 H Warlock / Deadlything 48 D Hunter

Greatdanes

I like Sazgul's suggestion.

We will could avoid "DKP hoarders" that way, I think.

Bastet

or you can buy a wet trout and just slap them over the head a few times, anyhow i dont think there is much you can do about ppl not getting item A cause item B is also availible. But thank god most of the ppl have enough comon sence to take all the items they can get. (well actualy if i was on an alt i wouldnt take wrath helm cause i cant get the rest of the set and its but ugly)

Fine by me, and up the number of tier1 items to 6. Many people are still running around with green stuff

I agree on 6 Tier1 items.

But what about the people that allready have theyre Tier2 leg/headpiece? Do that count as a tier1?

Nope, because when they are gonna do Naxxramus, then they need 6 Tier2 to start getting Tier3
