You can find it under "Quick Links" until Gandy has a chance to recustomise things

Double Click the big icon (the one that shows if there's new posts) to mark the whole section read. Brilliant.:biggrin:

I'm hoping that the mark forums read becomes redundant now as this new version has much improved forum marking facilities.

Anyway, if you want it back in a prominant place again I can certainly put it there. However, it is a big ass bit of text :tongue: any suggestions for a shorter phrase?

Please tell me it's not the auto read deal whereby when you leave the forum it assumes you've read everything. I would like to be able to retain control over whether i read something or not.

Here you go;

This option controls how threads and forums are marked as read.

   1. Inactivity/Cookie Based - once a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time (the value of the session timeout option) all threads and forums are considered read. Individual threads are marked as read within a session via cookies.

      This option is how all versions of vBulletin before 3.5 functioned.

   2. Database (no automatic forum marking) - this option uses the database to store thread and forum read times. This allows accurate read markers to be kept indefinitely. However, in order for a forum to be marked read when all threads are read, the user must view the list of threads for that forum.

      This option is more space and processor intensive than inactivity-based marking.

   3. Database (automatic forum marking) - this option is the same as a previous option, but forums are automatically marked as read when the last new thread is read.

      This is the most usable option for end users, but most processor intensive.

We are using option three. So if you don't read the thread then it'll still be marked as unread until you actually view it or 'Quick Links, Mark Forums Read'

hehe, no probs, I'll put the button back on the top in a bit. It is still there, but in the Quick Links menu.

I seam to be getting wierd issues if i post something w/ more then one smilie, post gets shortend to the second smilie (that doesnt get displayed).
