This one has been rolling around work for a few days now so here goes....

In the next few years you are given a stark choice regarding the future of the UK.

1. Either we are completely integrated into a United States of Europe with a single currency, parliament, police force, army, tax rate etc. etc all controlled from Brussels.

2. Or we elect to join the Union of the USA becoming their 51st State. We would adopt the USA currency, government, police force, army etc etc. all controlled from Washington.

There is no third choice, it's either all Europe or all USA. We cannot remain an independant UK.

What's it to be?

europe + amsterdam, enough said
- france
usa + big hamburgers and hotdogs
- lots of VERY overwieght ppl trying to sue McDonalds and BK

I vote for option (3), a big value McKentucky Royale with cheese meal with curly fries and a flaming BK double swiss on rye, hold the sour grapes.

nah has to be USA, for christs sake, you peeps wanna keep paying out your TANGO for elctronics. You guys wanna keep giving away 25% of your wage to "income tax", then about 10% to NI then a further 17.5% to VAT then about another %2.5 to other taxes like council?!?!?!?

Its gotta be the lesser of 2 evils - the 51st.
Up until this Iraq thing i would have gone with Europe but Germany & France's actions have exposed just how big the differences really are and how much those two countries working in collaboration are stitching up Europe for their own benefit.

Twenty votes is a fair sample. So 12 for Europe and 8 for USA.

You might be interested to know that up until this little poll I and a couple of friends had polled half our local pub and two work places. Altogether about 45 people. And until this poll EVERY ONE OF THEM voted for the USA. So those that said Europe broke the mold

Personally the USA has already gone through all the pain and grief of creating a Union and has had 200 odd years to iron out the kinks. Europe is just starting and on current form look like their going to make the biggest balls up imaginable of it. That and the idea of paying $8.99 for my DVD's !
