Is there any chance we could have a kind of map of the week thing going on Meathook? (along with all the regular maps of course) i was thinking that it'd be nice to give some maps a go that wouldn't normally get a look in otherwise, or are just favourites of people that are never played here.

Don't know how the best way to do it would be, but maybe something along the lines of having a list of maps made up by member's choices, and then a vote, or even having one member's choice for a week, then another's for the next week etc etc.

Watcha think?

lol, I would like to try it out cos, As most of you should know i only know my way around about 5 maps on CS. I am still learning them! Im not sure if you mean only JUST dMw members but ya lets try it... if i can! :lol:

yea if you mean all of us and not just members it would be nice to try diffrent maps i quite like the idea of noone knowing the maps well , it gives the game a bit of a twist

btw..i would like to use this post to say a big sry to anyone i shot/at the other night on office i was having mouse trouble with the button sticking (kids lollies one thinks) problem is now solved (one mouse for kids and one for dad

LOL sis are so stupid when it comes to PCs. i allways scared when mine is on the PC it allways ends up with over 50 bugs on it :roll: . And the one i am on now is new! only about 2 months old. We got it cos the old one was f*cked to bits

Or you could do what i do. Show them graphic images of bloodied hands mangled in farm machinery accidents and say "that's what happens when you touch daddy's mouse..."

Child beating aside, custom maps are great. It might be a good idea to have one every fortnight, so that people actually get a chance to play it though...

There is a balance to strike between not knowing the maps and blundering around like a fool, and knowing the maps so well that you have used every single tactic possible a thousand times and it is just dull. (see dust, siege, assault etc.)

I have grave concerns on adopting new maps on a regular basis and I'll try to explain why.

As you all know, in the past I've been keen to get the rotation changed and approved whole heartedly on the inclusion of roadhouse and egypt. But I've since realised that this is a dangerous thing to do to a server with so few regular players. Unless we can guarantee that the majority of Meat Hook regulars will download the maps on trial then we're not only wasting our time but we're in danger of loosing those players to other servers. When was the last time that either roadhouse or egypt was requested from within a game as the next map?

Good point. But the plain fact is that it's better (IMHO) to be playing on a dull old map with eleven other players than playing a 2v2 on a new map.

All I'm basically saying is we need to see much more activity on the MH if we're going to try introducing new maps on a regular basis. Carry on pimping.
