So, I hope to catch the new Bond this weekend. I realy am looking forward for it.
Of all Bonds, my favorite was Timothy Dalton. He was a hard type, closed, suffering (reminded me of "the spy who came back from the cold", in a way). Not so glamorous like Moore and not so shiny like Connrey. I hope Blondy will deliver the same message.
"Even in a justified war, only one place there is for the dead; if someone loses - it\'s only you. Prime Ministers leave without a scratch - when everything ends they mourn the people; but I want to live on and mourn them"

Mmmm, funny how tastes differ. I thought TD was utter rubbish. Sean is still the best to me.

Brosnan wasn't bad either

Booked in to see it tomorrow. To be entirely honest I didn't think any of the Bonds were that good. Connery was too arrogant, less said about Moore the better, Brosnan was passable until the films became horrifically bad - Tommorw Never Dies being ok, but a steep slope from there...

Will be nice to see a "proper" bond - although still think it should have been Clive Owen...

Clive Owen?

Bill Owen would've been better

Gotta agree with LeRouge on this one. I thought Timothy Dalton was one of the best Bonds, closely followed by Pierce Brosnan. Dalton put Bond across as a bit more of a git. The kind of guy who would hunt you down and torture you slowly on a personal vendetta if you annoyed him, rather than just a suave gentleman whose job happened to include killing people.

Connery is one of my least liked Bonds (ignoring George Lazenby of course. On Her Majesty's Secret Service? They never made a movie of that did they?). I just don't like the young Connery in anything. As an old man, in things like The Rock or Hunt For Red October, he is the ultimate dude, but when he was younger and playing Bond I just thought he came across as a greasy arroant twerp with too much Brylcream.

Wow, isn't that odd. I assumed everyone prefered Connery as is fashionable.

Moore had his good bits, the eyebrow, the delivery when the Bond films were all about humour and a big stunt. Live and Let Die - good film.

Brosnan was good, a bit grittier and having initially though Clive Owen as well I think the new geezer will be alright. He was ok in Layer Cake and by all accounts it's a bit rougher around the edges so I'm holding out hope for this one.

The Bond lowlight for me was Brosnan falling off the edge of the cliff in the ice dragster then reappearing using it's parachute and engine cover as a surf board......tripe.

However the motorbike off the cliff into the falling plane - pure brilliance.

I have to admit that I always really liked Tim Dalton - Living Daylights is one of my all time fave bond films.  He was about the only one (pre Daniel Craig) who seemed like a proper professional assassin all the time (and lets not forget thats what Ian Fleming wrote him as).

Sean had his moments (that scene where he knows the guy has used all his shots up and just murders him in cold blood) and Brosnan got there sometimes when he wasn't advertising Omega watches.  The less said about Moore and his 3 tv acting faces, the better.

Daniel Craig - aka "Bond Begins"       Hurrah

I'm taking Smilodon out of his restraints and padded cell to see it next week, in the hope he'll be able to make it through a showing without any...unpleasantness :norty:
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

That was the main reason I liked Dalton as well.

Which one was that? I don't recall it.

More doesn't act, it's all the eyebrow. It's a separate entity you know.

Excellent, worth every (menny)penny, or Israeli Shekel in my case.

Has also at least a couple of hints/gestures to other films (not Bonds), let's dicuss it when you saw it...

Casino Royale - very good, very gritty, quite a bit darker, and definitely rougher. Go see it, can't wait for "part two"!!

Have you noticed the gestures to Banlieue 13 and to Don't Look Now?

There was the parkour scene which was pretty awesome. I assume that's what you mean?
