Age of Empires III

So, how many of you still play AoE 3? And do you play it online?

 I've been thinking of getting this for a while, but I don't have any money atm, so I'll have to wait...

I stopped playing AoE with AOK:TC (also avidly played AoE and RoR).

For me RoR was the best genre and era to play and it'd be great to use the latest engine and re-do that. Gunpodwer Civ's ruined it for me.

Haven't really looked into AoE 3 so know little about it.

I didn't really play RoR or AoE 1 much, mainly AoE 2 and it's exp pack...

 And I'm kinda looking forward to gunpowder... I've always had a thing for the basic gunpowder technology in games ^^.

Guns and other such modern nonsense is for wusses. Swords, axes, maces etc. ftw! Brute force! none of that, uuuh I don't wanna get to close to the enemy, because then I could get hurt. you can with guns aswell ofc, but with guns you keep distance and can fight from a hideout.. close combat is the thing

Aye, you wanna be able to look into your foes eyes, so that he knows you're the one who killed him! It's a way of saying we're all equal as men, except I'm slightly more equal, 'cause I'm alive and you're dead.

 Also, dropping a nuke on them from 50,000 feet is also totally acceptable! 'Cause let's face it... there's just not enough time in this busy world to show everyone the courtesy of a good strangling.

i played the first couple of campaigns on Age of Empires III and i hated it, Age of Mythology was the best game, then it went downhill after the expansion. :angry:

Age of Empires III is awesome!!!! I played it for about 6 months, graphics are awesome if you got a good gfx card and multiplayer gameplay is awesome. I hit a 1st Leutenant after like 2 months Does anyone still play it then???

Brought it thinking this might be a good game, played it for half hour, lost interest, and fell asleep, not played it since, IMHO it doesn't touch Total War (Rome and Medieval II) I quite liked AOE I and II. shame really :sideways:

looks like everyone has a different opinion on it, and its down to personal choice at the end of the day, my only advise is try before you buy, download the demo !

Age of Mythology is really good. I tried it out at a friends house and loved every minute of it

i only know age of mythologie and age of empires2. in my opinion, age2 is one of the best games of all genre

Age of empires II is pretty good, if the graphics were a bit better, it'd be great, and this is where AOC III comes in, great game - from what i've seen - and I would well recommend it!
