Voice comms is important but hard to do cause of not knowing when someone is dead and because they then rejoin and you don't know who rejoins (reinforcements that is) it is hard to know what position you are in i.e. if you are on your own or where your team mates are.

My suggestion would be that when you come back as reinforcement you should inform your team you are back and where you are going or ask for orders.

Or have the commander issue the orders, i.e. you two attack B etc. using the in-game menu. I have never tried that though.

Well, I reckon in a real-life Bagdad the grunts would be on several "check-in's" per hour. Calling for a  Team Check would seem to be useful, especially on our Server, and, as we get to know the maps better, we should also be able to say where we are. Usually ABC or D, or between. I bet we get the hang of it......

First away from Spawn to an objective is important to get some points under the belt from the go. So getting in a huddle at spawn is not the way to go. Set plans for each map  would be a start.

Kills are only one point, while getting to and securing an objective is 2?. So, it would seem, get the objective, half the battle, defending it another problem if resources are thin.

I'm still learning the scoring system as we go along. Games tonight were good except for the tk's!

TKs will fade as people play the game more I think.

I have no idea how the scoring system worked - but most of my scores were not from killing, but from attacking bases. I have no idea how many times I took A, but several times per life.

I would say the other way around - killing is what you do, if you have no other choice in defending/getting a base. Get bases first, then kill what you have to. Just because you see someone does not mean you have to kill him, especially if you are trying to get to a base...

We have played CS for 8 years now ... I still get killed by Browne when he is on the same team.  So, no they will not go away. ;):flirty::roflmao:

Definitely the priority is to get bases but....

If you kill someone remember the main advantage to that is that they are out of the game for a number of seconds.  This can vary (don't know the reason yet) from just a couple of seconds to maybe 17, 18 or higher?

Therefore there is an advantage to killing because while they are dead you have the chance to get to a base and take it.

I was frustrated last night with my team I was playing as the commander and giving out objectives and also using alot of voice comms but only b00n bothered to listen.

I think there is a huge draw towards sneaking around on your own and picking up kills and the occasional cap, but the best way and must enjoyable way to play is working as a squad with covering fire and locking down objectives.

The caps go faster the more members there are on the cap.

I think (enough players willing) the way the game is meant to be played is with a 2 squad split with defensive and offensive objectives for each.

We could do with all us regulars getting on one squad and trying out some manouvers.

Can we have smaller maps with less bases to cap?

Of course both things need to be done. But, taking bases pushes the enemy's insertion point when spawning further back and getting bases wins the game. The question is how much killing is needed to get the bases - and my experience is that getting to bases and taking bases can be done often without killing, and letting spotted enemies run away if they are heading in the other direction and not an obvious kill.

I agree, with some practice team playing together and playing to the commanders orders will do well.
